Join Me On a Journey

Happy (Almost) New Year!

I'm excited about 2010! I believe that God has great things in store for me. I'm hanging on to the hope that I will see prayers answered, miracles occur, and be the closest to God that I've ever been. I'm excited about getting into the Word of God and learning new things. What are you believing Him for this new year?

Starting January 1, I will start a year-long journey through the Bible. After looking a few different "plans", I decided on this one: www.bible-reading.com/bible-plan.html The way this reading plan is set up, I will be reading a different "category" (for lack of a better word) each day of the week. On Sundays, I'll be reading the Epistles. On Mondays, I'll be reading The Law. Tuesdays will be History. Psalms are Wednesdays. Poetry on Thursdays. Fridays I'll be reading Prophecy, and on Saturdays, I'll be in the Gospels. Sounds fun, right? :)

I know many people have tried (with good intentions & determination) and failed at reading through the Bible in a year. So to help remedy that for 2010, I'll be blogging weekly about what God is showing me in His word. My hope is that you will join me and keep me accountable by adding your thoughts to the blog. (At the bottom of each blog, you have the option to comment.) Together, we can embark on a journey through God's Word and help one another when we hit stumbling blocks. I don't know what God has in store, but I know that it's going to be amazing. So pack your spiritual bags and get ready to go. The journey starts on Friday. Our first destination: Isaiah.

I pray "that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come." (Eph. 1:17-21)

Charis,
Ashley
